This walking tour of the United German & French Cemetery explores the final resting places of some of the earliest residents of Buffalo, who grew industries, built civic institutions, and shaped the city. You will be introduced to manufacturers, inventors, brewers, craftsmen, heroes, sportsmen, a brothel owner, and a sandwich maker & all of whom called Buffalo their home.
The tour begins next to the yellow brick United German & French Cemetery Facilities building on the west side of Pine Ridge Heritage Boulevard, 0.7 miles south of the Kensington Expressway or 0.1 miles north of Genesee Street. Pull off the street and alongside the cemetery fence to park. There are no restrooms at the cemetery; the closest restrooms are at the Mount Calvary offices (0.7 miles north) or Tim Horton’s (0.1 miles south).
