The Birthday Massacre

The Birthday Massacre (formally abbreviated as TBM) is a Canadian band, formed in 1999. Originally the band was named Imagica. This name was inspired from the fantasy novel Imajica (1991) by Clive Barker. In 2002, they changed the name to The Birthday Massacre after one of their earlier songs in order to avoid confusion with another group. The band is well known for their unique sound which blends many elements of Goth, Rock, Alternative, Dark Wave, New Wave and 80’s styles together, with many fans praising their mix of synths and heavy guitars.
