Pennies to Heaven

Pennies to Heaven is a cherished OLV tradition that brings together the community for a joyful celebration of faith, family, and fellowship in support of the mission of Venerable Nelson Baker. Held annually on the OLV campus, the 2026 event features live entertainment, family activities, raffles, food and drink, a Kids’ Zone, and the beloved “Penny Drop” tradition outside the Basilica.

All proceeds support the continued good work of the OLV parish, school, and community.

Saturday, August 1

3 p.m. – 1st Annual Car Show and expanded Kids’ Zone, DJ, basket raffle, split club, silent auction, food & drink (winners will be announced Sunday)

4:30 p.m. – Jazz Mass 

6 p.m. – Car show awards announced. Solo acoustic performance format of Buffalo-based singer, guitarist, and songwriter Tim Britt, built around a request-driven and highly interactive live music experience until 9 p.m.  

Sunday, August 2

7:30 a.m. – Penny Drop begins outside of the Basilica … bring your loose change!

Noon – Father Baker Day Mass in the Basilica

Noon – Activities (Kids’ Zone, basket raffle, silent auction, split club, entertainment, food & drink) begin

1 p.m. – Chiavetta’s Chicken BBQ pick-up (including driveup station)

4 p.m. – Basket raffles and silent auction close

5 p.m. – All activities close

Paint the Basilica Art Exhibit available for viewing all weekend in the Shrine (Basilica lower level).
