Owl Moon is a winter evening experience inspired by the beloved book Owl Moon by Jane Yolen, hosted at Genesee Country Village & Museum.
Explore the night woods
Join GCV&M naturalists on guided nighttime hikes through the Museum’s trails and experience the outdoors as owls do. Learn about owl behavior, habitats, and the species native to our region. The earliest hikes begin with some remaining daylight and are best for visitors with visibility concerns.
Meet live owls
Guests will have the opportunity to meet live owls up close with our friends from Wild Wings Inc. and learn about these fascinating nocturnal birds and the conservation work that supports them.
Stay and enjoy the evening
Before or after your hike, warm up by outdoor fire pits, listen to readings of Owl Moon, enjoy food and beverages in the Meeting Center, and browse owl-themed gifts and Village-made goods in the Flint Hill Store.
