Niagara Organizing Alliance for Hope is proud to announce a community wide celebration in honor of Juneteenth, the federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States.
Hosted by Niagara Organizing Alliance for Hope, and Chaired by their Executive Director, Danessia Scott-Warren, Esq.
The celebration will include Co-Keynote Speakers, Dr. Kimberly Wooten, MD, FACS of Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and Attorney Terrence D. McKelvey, Esq. and Special Guest Speaker, Saladin Allah from the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center. Live entertainment featuring The Colored Musicians Club, She Drums, Line Dancing Lessons (Bring your Fans!), Bishop Jeremiah Snell and The Greater Joy Ministries International Quartet. The Crusaders and The Bucs Lady Steppers Drill Teams! Fun activities for your children from crafts to Pretty Princess Beauty Bus.
Food vendors: Auntie’s Breaking Bread, Sunshine Vegan Eats, Classic Soul, Twisted Icee-Slushie (Non Alcoholic), Sweet Treats of WNY, and Lemon Love. Shop at local artisans and vendors like Paparazzi Jewelry, Lady Glow, Unique Boutique, Lisa’s Teez, SC Pretty Boutique, and All Things Arts. Professional groups and representatives from NY Statewide Senior Action Council, U.B. Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, the Erie County Minority Bar Association, Hands-Only CPR Training courtesy of UBMD Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, and the National Association of Black Social Workers.
Enjoy family-friendly activities, and opportunities to learn about African American history, culture, and heritage. ALL are welcome and encouraged to attend this free admissions event, which aims to foster unity, resiliency, reflection, and celebration.
