M&T FIRST FRIDAY: We the People-Piñata Making

Inspired by Justin Favela’s and Francisco Palomar’s works in Let Us Gather in a Flourishing Way that prominently feature piñatas, people will contribute to collaborative piñatas. Join the Buffalo AKG and guest art instructor Samantha Serrano for a free Drop-In Artmaking session. The works will be used at the August 21 celebration, “Family Fiesta,” with Justin Favela.

As a closing celebration for Let Us Gather In A Flourishing Way and inspired by family gatherings from his youth, Justin Favela brings the family fiesta a lively cookout filled with food, music, art, and fun to Buffalo in a joyful community event from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, August 21, 2026 at the Buffalo AKG.
