Moonlight Gamelan Valentine

Nusantara Arts presents its first-ever Dinner & a Show: Moonlight Gamelan Valentine, a one-of-a-kind Valentine’s Day celebration featuring special guest artist Heri Purwanto.

Guests are invited to enjoy an immersive evening of live Javanese gamelan music paired with an unforgettable family-style Indonesian feast. The evening’s performance highlights the soft, shimmering sounds of a traditional Javanese bronze gamelan orchestra, offering music that ranges from serene to vibrant. This special concert marks the culmination of Heri Purwanto’s month-long artist residency in Buffalo.

Dinner features nasi tumpeng, a ceremonial Indonesian meal symbolizing gratitude and togetherness, served family-style. The menu includes ayam bakar (Indonesian grilled chicken), slow-braised beef rendang, tofu and egg with belado chili sauce, gado-gado with peanut sauce, green beans and tempeh in sweet soy, and a dessert of black sticky rice pudding with coconut cream. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.
