Join us for a Lipsey Summer Jazz performance by the Janice Mitchell Quintet!

Renowned for her contributions to jazz and blues vocals, Janice Mitchell has collaborated with the Jim Beishline Trio and received the 2000 Buffalo Music Award for Top Jazz Small Band. A member of the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame, Janice’s extensive career includes studio backing vocals for esteemed artists such as Nancy Wilson, Melba Moore, Les McCann, Bobby Womack, and Robbie Krieger of The Doors. 

Furthermore, she spent five years touring internationally as a member of the Raelettes with Ray Charles, providing backup vocals for his recordings, including his Christmas album. Janice’s filmography includes appearances in Uptown Saturday Night (starring Sidney Poitier) and The Idolmaker (directed by Taylor Hackford). Joining Janice will be Jim Beishline on piano, Wayne Moose on bass, and Danny Hull on drums.
