The Buffalo State Performing Arts Center presents smooth jazz guitarist Lee Ritenour. Ritenour’s 50 year eclectic and storied career is highlighted by a 1986 Grammy Award win and 17 Grammy nominations. He has recorded over 40 albums, with 35 chart songs, including the Top 15 hit “Is It You” which became a contemporary jazz radio classic. In the 90s, Ritenour was a founding member of Fourplay, one of the most successful bands in contemporary jazz. Their first album spent an unprecedented 33 weeks at #1 on Billboard’s contemporary jazz chart. Ritenour has collaborated on various levels with dozens of legends including Pink Floyd, Stelly Dan, BB King, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Simon & Garfunkel, Aretha Franklin, Barbara Streisand, Phil Collins, Chaka Kahn, Herbie Hancock and more.
