Ice at Canalside

Celebrate the magic of winter at Ice at Canalside, returning for its 12th season as the largest outdoor rink in New York State. This beloved Buffalo tradition transforms the waterfront into a vibrant cold-weather playground, featuring fan favorites like ice bumper cars, curling, ice bikes, and the whimsical ice train. Whether you’re gliding across the rink, testing your balance on an ice bike, or laughing your way through a bumper-car spin, Ice at Canalside offers fun for all ages and every type of winter adventurer.

The rink is open through February, with weekly hours designed to fit every schedule:

• Monday: Closed for ice maintenance and leagues (private parties available)

• Tuesday: 11 a.m. & 2 p.m.

• Wednesday: 4 p.m. & 8 p.m.

• Thursday: 4 p.m. & 8 p.m.

• Friday: 1 p.m. & 10 p.m.

• Saturday: 11 a.m. & 10 p.m.

• Sunday: 11 a.m. & 8 p.m.

Extended holiday hours make it even easier to join in the seasonal fun:

• Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 27): 11 a.m. & 6 p.m.

• Winter Break (Dec. 22 & Jan. 2): 11 a.m. & 10 p.m.

  • Christmas Eve (Dec. 24): 11 a.m. & 6 p.m.

  • Christmas Day (Dec. 25): 11 a.m. & 6 p.m.

• Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Jan. 19): 11 a.m. & 6 p.m.
