Earl Sweatshirt, the stage name of Chicago-born Thebe Neruda Kgositsile, is an American rapper and producer known for his introspective lyrics and unique delivery. He first gained recognition in 2009 as part of the alternative hip-hop group Odd Future. His 2010 mixtape Earl was praised for its dark themes and inventive wordplay. Kgositsile’s music is known for its abstract production, jazz and lo-fi influences, and poetic lyrics.
