Dan Kelly, the soulful frontman of Southern California reggae-rock band Fortunate Youth, has been spreading good vibes and positive energy since the band’s formation in Hermosa Beach, CA in 2009. Born in Tupelo, Mississippi, Dan is a self-taught guitarist and songwriter who first picked up music on an old acoustic guitar gifted to him at the age of 12.
Over the past 15 years, he’s toured the country more times than he can count, performing to sold-out crowds and helping lead Fortunate Youth to amass millions of streams and a loyal following
worldwide. Known for their energetic live shows and full-band sound complete with horns, bongos, keys, bass, and drums Fortunate Youth has become a cornerstone of modern American reggae.
In the spring of 2026, Dan Kelly will step out on his first-ever solo U.S. tour, returning to his roots: just him and an old acoustic guitar. Growing up in humble beginnings with two older brothers and two adopted brothers, Dan learned early on that music was not just a passion it was a purpose; and at times, it can be medicine when you need it most.
The Anthem Tour is a journey back to where it all began. Named after his heartfelt song “Anthem,” which honors those we’ve loved and lost along the way, this tour is a celebration of connection, gratitude, and the timeless power of song. With stories, soul, and stripped-down acoustic performances, Dan Kelly invites fans to experience the heart behind the music that built it all.
