Join us for a special lecture with Dr. Kurt Volle in the Children’s Resource Center focused on bird conservation close to home and beyond. Dr. Volle will discuss his involvement in local bird conservation projects, including bird banding and efforts to protect Purple Martins, and how this hands-on work contributes to understanding and protecting native bird populations.

The lecture will also explore Dr. Volle’s conservation work on Rota Island in the Northern Mariana Islands, highlighting the projects he supports there and the impact they are having on bird species and habitats. Bringing the conversation back to the Buffalo Zoo, attendees will learn how these efforts connect to bird conservation and research at the Zoo, and how similar approaches are applied locally.

Doors open at 6:30pm and presentation begins at 7pm
