Do you ever feel inspired to paint nature while out for a walk? Artist Faith Quinn will guide participants in transforming those fleeting moments of inspiration into vibrant works of art.
Inspired by Charles E. Burchfield’s Insects and Spiders: A Vast, Tiny World exhibition, this workshop invites participants to explore nature at the micro level. Burchfield found endless wonder in the smallest details, and drawing from his approach, participants will work with gouache to create landscapes inspired by close observation of nature focusing on trees, textures, and flowers at our feet.
Painting with gouache allows artists to capture luminous light and bold color. Participants will learn essential concepts such as color mixing, value, and strong composition, while also being encouraged to experiment with unexpected color combinations to achieve striking results.
Open to all skill levels, this workshop is ideal for beginners and experienced artists alike. Whether you’re new to gouache or looking to expand your practice, you’ll gain confidence in this versatile medium and discover how unlikely colors can come together to create something extraordinary.
Supplies included.
