06/10/2026 @ 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Join us at the Waterway of Change Exhibit located in the Longshed building at Canalside for our June Lecture Series Featuring Dr. Nevergold.
The East Presbyterian (Colored) Church was founded in 1850. This presentation will offer a portrait of the Church, its founding members, its significance during its decade of existence, and its relationship to the Vine Street A.M.E. Church and St. Philip’s Episcopal Church.
Dr. Nevergold is the co-founder of the Uncrowned Queens Institute for Research and Education on Women, Inc. She researches and documents the history of WNY African Americans. The mission is to reclaim, collect, preserve, and share the biographies and historical narratives of African American community builders. These are available through the Institute’s signature digital archive at www.uncrownedcommunitybuilders.com. And various publications.
