2026 Fall Speaker Series (Greg Kinal, “When the World Came to Town”)

This presentation deals with the good and bad in mankind. The program explores the horrible attacks on September 11, 2001. Immediately after the attacks, the US
shut down its airspace and those planes coming in from Europe were forced to land in Canadian airports. One such airport was Gander, Newfoundland. Thirty-eight jumbo
jets with 7,000 passengers landed in Gander and stayed five days. The wonderful people of Gander and surrounding towns housed, fed and cared for those “plane people.” This remarkable story will bring tears to your eyes about the goodness of mankind.
