Visit Buffalo is encouraging locals and visitors alike to vote daily for East Aurora to win Parade magazine’s national contest to become America’s Favorite Small Town.

East Aurora, nominated by Visit Buffalo’s communications team, is now a finalist in Parade’s America’s Favorite Small Towns competition. The contest highlights distinctive communities across the country as they vie for the chance to be featured in Parade’s special Favorite Small Towns in America coverage.

Parade, a legacy entertainment and lifestyle brand, reaches 48 million readers each month across its digital and media platforms. This contest is already reaching millions of potential visitors as they plan travel for the year ahead.

The winning town will receive official recognition, including the right to use the “Favorite Small Town in America” badge and signage. It will also host a Parade celebration during its July Fourth festivities, which will attract national media coverage. This competition leads up to this year’s 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence by getting the word out about the unique character of small communities with populations under 250,000.

Locals, friends and fans are encouraged to take a few minutes to vote daily and share the link, americasfavoritesmalltowns.parade.com. Each vote is an entry into a sweepstakes for a chance to win a $1,500 travel voucher. After community voting closes Feb. 28, national finalists will be announced March 1, with state winners named June 1 followed by the announcement of the national winner on June 12.

“This is exactly the kind of spotlight East Aurora deserves,” said Patrick Kaler, president and CEO of Visit Buffalo. “From the Roycroft legacy to its iconic Main Street and welcoming community spirit, East Aurora is the best of small-town America. This competition gives us a chance to share that story with millions of readers and future visitors. Put East Aurora on the national map. Help us get out the vote!”
