Woodlawn Diner

Serving Route 5 since 1952, the Woodlawn Diner originally fed nearby Bethlehem Steel workers. Dave and Joan Ries ran the restaurant from 1985 to 2016, followed by Missy Jenkins. Current owner Keith Hooper and sister Diane Hassett purchased and renovated the diner in 2022, preserving its classic 1950s railcar feel with red vinyl booths, a lunch counter paired with red and turquoise upholstered chrome stools, and raised diamond-pattern aluminum panels lining the walls. The menu delivers delicious and nostalgic comfort: fluffy pancakes, killer onion rings, potato pancakes, biscuits and gravy and the like.
