Wallenwein’s Hotel

Affectionately known as “Wally’s,” Wallenwein’s Hotel opened in 1882 as a stop for travelers between Olean and Buffalo. This historic tavern maintains a traditional German-style standing-room-only bar, since the absence of stools encourages conversation. Equally known for one of the region’s best fish frys (with every side made fresh in-house), current owner Ben Holmes embraces the restaurant’s history while boldly innovating the experience. For example, despite its love of tradition, Wally’s also offers a popular vegan night each week.
