Unapologetic Coffee inside Canisius University’s Science Hall at 1901 Main Street in Buffalo is a Black and women owned specialty coffee café and roastery founded by twin sisters and Canisius alums Alicia and Alisa Officer, who small batch roast single-origin, directly traded beans sourced from family farms and cooperatives across South America and Africa using a zero emission Bellwether electric roaster. The Canisius location is a full circle homecoming for the sisters, featuring freshly made salads with house crafted dressings, locally sourced Logan’s Bagels, and the brand’s signature small batch coffees — all open to the public, not just students and faculty. Located on Main Street in the heart of Buffalo’s university corridor, the café is open weekdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM during the school year, with online ordering, catering, and nationally shipped coffee also available through the brand’s growing Buffalo based operation.
