King Condrell’s began in 1966, when Nick Condrell opened it on Delaware Avenue in a former butcher shop as simply “Condrell’s.” In 1996, the ice cream shop was purchased by Rich King, who had previously opened King’s Kandy locations in area malls starting in 1989. King Condrell’s is run by Rich and his wife Melissa, with the help of their children. The shop is known for handmade chocolates, housemade ice cream and oversized specialty sundaes like the Kitchen Sink, made with 16 scoops of ice cream, sauces, toppings and whipped cream, all served in a stainless-steel sink basin.
