Buffalo Clayart Center at 255 Great Arrow Avenue in Buffalo’s historic Pierce Arrow Factory Complex has been a cornerstone of Western New York’s ceramic arts community since 1997, operating as a cooperatively organized, membership-driven working pottery studio that in 2025 expanded under new owners Jeffrey Marshall and Caroline Lesniak to include a brand new dedicated teaching studio featuring nine professional quality wheels, hand-building tables, and access to three large kilns. The expanded facility now offers six and eight week beginner through intermediate courses in wheel throwing, hand building, trimming, and glazing, alongside specialty workshops, wheel taster sessions, date night pottery events, private group lessons, and open studio time for more experienced potters — all taught in intentionally small class sizes by experienced ceramic artists. Open to the public for scheduled classes and by appointment, Buffalo Clayart Center also supplies clay and pottery materials to independent potters throughout the Western New York area, making it the region’s most comprehensive pottery studio and ceramic arts destination.
