Mike’s Homemade Candies

Mike’s Candies is a family-run chocolate shop rooted in recipes developed by founder Michael Melithoniotes, who opened the business in 1962 after immigrating to Buffalo from Greece. Known for classic Buffalo sponge candy, handmade chocolates and marshmallow treats like the Charlie Chaplin, the shop uses traditional methods, including hand-dipping and in-house nut roasting. Operated today by Michael’s wife, Anna, and their daughter Sue, Mike’s remains prized for quality, warmth and craftsmanship.
