Chef’s Restaurant

Virginio and Enrica Chiari opened Chef’s in 1923 at the intersection of Seneca and Chicago Streets as a 30-seat neighborhood restaurant and bar. At age 12, Lou Billittier began working at Chef’s as a dishwasher and eventually became its sole owner in 1954. Under Billittier’s ownership, the menu grew, establishing the restaurant’s Spaghetti Parmesan as its signature dish. Guests will find it on the menu among heaping platters of Italian-American standards. In the last decade, Chef’s expanded by adding a food truck and drive-thru.
