Bocce Club Pizza – Amherst

Widely regarded as the originator of Buffalo’s signature pizza style, Bocce Club’s pizzas are notable for their subtly sweet sauce, edge-to-edge mozzarella, and thick, chewy crust. WWII veteran Dino Pacciotti introduced his version while working at a bocce club in 1946 and opened the venerable Bailey Avenue location in 1959. Despite its popularity, Bocce Club remains a takeout and delivery spot, with pizzas sold as whole, half or quarter pies rather than small, medium and large to ensure consistent texture and quality across sizes.
