Big Dan’s Smokin’ Barbecue at 220 Sheridan Avenue on Buffalo’s East Side is a takeout barbecue shop serving Memphis-style pulled pork, Texas-style brisket, smoked pulled chicken, and sides like mac and cheese, collards, cornbread, baked beans, and house BBQ spaghetti. Owner Big Dan learned his craft in Tennessee and Mississippi, and every meat is smoked over lump charcoal with a blend of pecan and black cherry hardwood, with brisket burnt ends added on Fridays in limited supply. Open year-round Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM or until sold out, Big Dan’s takes pickup orders by phone and also offers catering for parties and events.
