BUFFALO, NY – Visit Buffalois once again reminding Canadians that they’re always welcome in Buffalo with new billboards positioned in Southern Ontario.

The new billboards, located on Highway 427 and Gardiner Expressway in Ontario, as well as on the Canadian side of the Peace Bridge, read “O Canada, We’re Still Singing It, Love Buffalo”.

The billboards reference the events of Thursday night: The first regular season game played in the brand-new Highmark Stadium, as well as the first time the Canadian National Anthem was sung at a Buffalo Bills game. “O Canada” is traditionally sung before Buffalo Sabres home games, along with “The Star-Spangled Banner”.

“Thursday night gave us a special opportunity to honor a friendship that has been part of this community for generations,” said Patrick Kaler, President and CEO of Visit Buffalo. “Canadian fans are used to hearing “O, Canada” before Sabres games, but hearing it sung for the first time at a Bills regular season game is a meaningful reminder of just how closely connected Buffalo and Southern Ontario are. These billboards carry that moment beyond the stadium and arena and send a simple message to our Canadian neighbors: Buffalo is still singing it, and you’ll always be welcome here.”

In May 2026, Visit Buffalo put up billboards in Southern Ontario with the message “O, Canada, We Meant Every Word. Love, Buffalo” after a microphone malfunction before a Buffalo Sabres vs. Boston Bruins game resulted in the entire crowd at KeyBank Center pitching in to help sing the Canadian National Anthem.

The Buffalo Sabres start their preseason tonight on the road against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
