This year marks the 125th anniversary of Theodore Roosevelt’s unexpected inauguration in Buffalo, NY. This temporary exhibit commemorates that momentous event, as well as the tragedy that led to it.
12 DAYS IN BUFFALO THAT CHANGED THE WORLD looks closely at the days leading up to TR’s inauguration and provides answers to visitors’ most-asked questions. Period photos evoke the roller coaster of emotions that Buffalonians (and the world) experienced during that brief but consequential historical moment: from excitement and anticipation to shock and utter disbelief; from hope and optimism to anxious waiting and intense sorrow. One-of-a-kind and rarely-seen artifacts (such as first-hand accounts of the assassination and a macabre souvenir from McKinley’s surgery) augment the story while providing unique, personal insights.
Cost: Included with regular admission
