On Sunday, August 16, ArtsBuffalo, JazzBuffalo, and Tappo Restaurant invite you to experience Voci d’Amore (Voices of Love) a special afternoon inspired by the music that has made Andrea Bocelli one of the world’s most beloved artists.
Featuring the extraordinary voices of Jay Dref and Carolyn Lansom, this special performance celebrates the beauty of timeless melodies, timeless duets, and songs that speak to the heart.
Buffalo native Jay Dref is an internationally recognized classical crossover tenor whose powerful and expressive voice has captivated audiences from Lincoln Center to concert halls around the world. A graduate of The Juilliard School, Dref has performed with major orchestras and toured internationally alongside renowned soprano Sarah Brightman. His ability to bridge classical artistry with contemporary accessibility has made him one of today’s most compelling vocal performers.
Joining him is acclaimed vocalist Carolyn Lansom, whose sophisticated jazz interpretations and remarkable versatility have made her a favorite among Buffalo audiences. She is a perennial nominee and winner in the annual JazzBuffalo Poll. Equally comfortable delivering a jazz standard, a theatrical ballad, or a crossover classic, Lansom brings warmth, elegance, and expressive depth to every performance.
Joined by an exceptional quartet led by musical director and pianist Don Rebic, a New York City veteran musical director, conductor, composer, and pianist whose distinguished, four-decade career has spanned the worlds of Broadway, jazz, cabaret, and classical music. Joining Don will be George Kane on guitar, Wayne Moose on bass, and Devin Kelly on drums.
The program offers beloved songs associated with Andrea Bocelli in fresh, intimate arrangements that combine classical elegance with warmth and expressive power.
Whether you’re a longtime admirer of Andrea Bocelli or love beautiful music performed by exceptional artists, Voci d’Amore promises an afternoon filled with soaring vocals, memorable melodies, and songs that have touched audiences around the world.
