Art by Emma Stanton the month of July! “I Love NY” is a show highlighting a vast series of landscape paintings.
“I create landscape paintings as a way of remembering, and specifically capturing the “moment of the now” on canvas. I love mixing colors and utilizing a vibrant palette to enhance the viewing experience of my paintings and bring the canvas to life. I hope to capture the warmth and glow of the sunset, the haze of the horizon, the joy of being on site with my brush. I particularly enjoy this part of my practice because the same subject can be repeated over and over again, and every time I find something to improve on. That eternal growth is really satisfying to look back on as an artist over time. Sources of my stylistic inspiration come from a wide range of artists, the Hudson River School landscape artists, Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli films, and more locally, Thomas Buechner. I’m happy to share my love of New York via painting during the month of July at the Intersection Cafe!”
Join us from 5 to 7:30 pm on Friday July 3rd for an opening reception. Pieces will be displayed & on sale throughout the month of July
