Soulful Discussions
Launching on the first Tuesday of each month, Soulful Discussions makes its return with renewed energy at MSAAHC. Originally founded in 2010 at the historic Paul Robeson Theatre, the program is reimagined as an intergenerational, co-ed exploration series designed to foster inclusive dialogue through literature, performance, and the arts.
Guests will experience thought-provoking book conversations, staged readings of plays and/or screenplays, and author presentations featuring live excerpts from their works. The series creates a welcoming space to celebrate Black history, literature, and artistic expression while encouraging diverse voices to join the conversation. Authors, artists, and community members interested in presenting their work are invited to contact Paulette D. Harris, Programs Director.
About the Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor: As an advocate for the community, the Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor Commission endeavors to integrate the African American cultural significance and impact on Buffalo’s history through public engagement, community education that will encourage cultural appreciation, preservation, and community development. Its four cultural anchors include the Historic Michigan Street Baptist Church, the Nash House and Museum, the Historic Colored Musicians Club and Jazz Museum, and the WUFO Black Radio History Collective.
